• Africa Maths Excellence is a Maths Institute formed in 2015 as a response to South Africa’s low mathematical ranking and Africa as a whole.
• According to the World Economic Forum, South Africa is ranked as one of the poorest performing countries in mathematics.
• This alarming statistic is a great cause for concern because mathematics is an essential tool in life which provides structure and enables people to be strategic and critical.
